I haven’t complained about the weather for awhile

But now is a damn fine time to start. It has been below freezing for two weeks. We are just in survival mode down here. Get out hay, get the water running. Repeat. Repeat. Repeat. Repeat. I am sick as a dog, and coughing up a lung. And I am contagious. Dave is so sick he can barely get out of bed. Having no other choice, I bundle up and get my sorry self to the barn, especially as I have an injured horse living in a stall. I have quit feeding on the fence as I have to soak the SR feed, and it freezes before I get it out (minus four Sunday morning). Then I can’t wash the dishes. Thank God we haven’t lost power. I honestly don’t know what we would do at that point. I did have to let the forgotten field ponies into the black barn field last night, as their waterer broke.
Today the vet came out to recheck stall pony, and the hot water heater ran out of water. Something froze between well and heater. I have always said horses do cold better than wet, and that’s true, so guess what will start this evening? You got it: freezing rain. On the upside, maybe it will warm enough to unfreeze all the field waterers. It will probably only cause ice and power outages. I am way to sick to think of anything positive to say about January, or 2018 in general so far. Thank you for your patience while I vent. I may shoot the computer, just for fun.
